Your website sells golf.

Your club sells ten things.

Overhead view of a green and two revetted bunkers at St Ives (Hunts)

Act oneThe brief

In your words

Not just a golf club website. Every area of the business on one site, joined to what you already run, and actually delivered.

01

The whole club

Golf, padel, weddings, functions, coaching and the clubhouse each get a front door, not a sub-page under "Venue".

02

Joined up

ClubV1 and Chronogolf stay exactly where they are. Nothing is migrated.

03

Delivered

A rebuild was approved in January. Nine months on, nothing. This one has dates.

04

On brand

We have already written your brand guidelines: crest, colour, type, photography and voice. This page is set in them.

A hundred-year-old club on a course built to play all year. Ten ways to make money, four of them invisible on the homepage.

The audit

Your homepage sells golf. It never once mentions weddings or padel.

Ten revenue streams. Seven homepage panels, five of them golf.

Weddings and padel are the only two that reach people who are not already golfers. Both are invisible above the fold.

The wedding photo predates the refurbishment

Couples are shown the old room. The refurbished one is photographed elsewhere on the site, on a phone.

The news page headerNews page

The news feed is generic filler

  • Golf Fitness: Exercises to Enhance Your Swing
  • The Evolution of Golf Technology
  • Golf and Wellness: The Mind-Body Connection
  • Golf Etiquette: The Unwritten Rules

Nobody in Cambridgeshire searches for any of these.

The room

The room you are selling, and the room you have.

Left, the weddings page today. Right, the same room after refurbishment, on a phone, on a different page. Couples see the left.

Both from stivesgolfclub.co.uk. Drag to compare.

What is buried

Three credentials most clubs would put on the front door. On your site, none of them is above the fold.

Titleist National Fitting Centre. One sentence, two levels down, inside the range page.

Act twoThe proposal

Your brand, already started

Navy and gold. Caslon and Proxima Nova. The links in the Fens.

Crest, colour, type, photography and voice, measured from your own site and written up as a full brand book. It is yours whether or not you appoint us. The website is built in it, and so is this page.

What we build

Ten front doors, organised around your customers.

"Venue" makes sense to you and nothing to a bride. Every revenue stream gets its own page, photography, film and enquiry route. ClubV1 and Chronogolf stay; the site routes to them.

Your film

Two minutes twenty-two of the club at golden hour. On one page, behind a text link.

Not on the homepage, membership, visitors, societies or weddings. The homepage carousel can play video; all seven slides have it switched off.

Clips

One film, cut into the pieces each page needs.

A two-minute film is watched once. A six-second silent loop is seen by everyone who lands. Where the 2024 rushes cover it, nothing new is shot.

The Concierge

Something on every page that answers, and captures what it cannot.

You already run Enquiry Bot. The Capture Concierge replaces it. It answers from a knowledge base you control: dress code, green fees, society packages, wedding availability, padel, opening times. Anything it cannot answer is flagged so you add it once, and becomes an enquiry rather than a lost visitor.

  • Every enquiry lands with a name. Weddings to Chelsea, societies to James Hart, not one inbox.
  • Voice, optionally. The same brain answers the phone when nobody can.
  • Swap, not spend. £69 a month, replacing what Enquiry Bot costs today.

A real exchange, one of our clubs, August 2026

Is there a dress code? Can I wear jeans?

Denim jeans are not permitted on the course. We kindly ask that you stick to golf attire.

What about white jeans?

Our dress code does not permit denim of any colour, white included.

Do I need to book a table for four this evening? We are staying at the caravan site next door.

Captured as an enquiry and sent to the clubhouse with the name and number

Search and AI

When someone asks, be the answer.

A bride asks ChatGPT for wedding venues near Huntingdon. A society organiser asks Google for a golf day in Cambridgeshire and gets an AI Overview, not ten links. A padel player asks for courts near St Ives. Each of them gets one answer. If the club is not in it, the club does not exist for that enquiry. Being in it is not luck: it is a page for every question, written so a machine can read it, with structured data that says what the club is, where it is and what it offers.

We checked ten pages of stivesgolfclub.co.uk on 4 September 2026. Every line below is checkable this afternoon.

Your robots file tells Google not to look at any of your photographs. One line, Disallow: /wp-content/uploads/, and every image on the site is invisible to image search and to AI crawlers. That is the cheapest fix in this document, and it is included at every level.

A greenkeeper raking a bunker at St Ives (Hunts) at first light

Sand-capped, four tees a hole, USGA greens. Open in February.

Proof, not a mood board

Four clubs, built the same way.

All four are live. Each one solves a piece of what St Ives needs, and between them they cover every argument in this document. Open any of them on a phone before the board meeting.

Tehidy Park

A members' club since 1922, which is the same story as St Ives since 1923: heritage first, and membership without a joining fee. It also runs the Journal described in Act three, so that is a thing we ship rather than a thing we promise.

tehidyparkgolfclub.co.uk

The £5,000 build

Silvermere

The closest parallel to St Ives. Golf, the range, custom fitting, lessons, a bar and bistro you can book a table at, group golf days, fishing and a shop, every one of them sold from the homepage rather than buried in a menu.

silvermere-golf.co.uk

The Players

Three courses, a venue, society days, fishing and stay-and-play rooms, with a separate front door and booking route for each. A club whose website had to carry far more than golf.

Booking journeys

Long Ashton

Course, membership, green fees, group golf, range and lessons and the clubhouse, each given its own page and its own enquiry, with the club's heritage led rather than buried.

Membership journey

St Ives has the bigger story. Padel courts, a wedding licence and a Titleist National Fitting Centre, on top of everything those four sell between them.

Delivery

Ten weeks, with dates.

The part that went wrong last time, so the part we have made most specific. Each stage ends with something you can see.

1

Week 1 · Discovery

Half a day at the club. Sitemap agreed, the 2024 rushes audited, padel filmed.

2

Weeks 2 to 3 · Design

Homepage and two templates presented. Nothing built until you sign off.

3

Weeks 4 to 7 · Build and edit

Staging link from day one. Clips cut in parallel.

4

Week 8 · Content and review

Everything loaded. Staff trained to update it themselves.

5

Week 9 · Search and redirects

Every old URL redirected. Schema so AI assistants read the club properly.

6

Week 10 · Live

Then two weeks of daily monitoring.

A September decision puts St Ives live in early December, ahead of the engagement-season wedding enquiries and January membership joins. Miss those and the next window is a year away.

Ten revenue streams four of them invisible

The struck-through four do not appear on the homepage today.

A template is a uniquely designed page, built once; that is where the work is. A content page uses a template that exists. The first template is the costly one, the ninth is not.

Line by line

What the extra £2,500 buys.

Five templates and the work that makes the club the answer when somebody asks.

TemplateWhat is on it
WeddingsGallery and a 20-second reel of the refurbished room, package table, a brochure download that captures the email, a form with date and guest count, routed to Chelsea.
PadelFilm of the courts, prices, book via Game4Padel, coaching and social play.
Events and private hireChristmas, wakes, birthdays, corporate. Capacity table. A seasonal page duplicated each year.
Practice, fitting and coachingThe Titleist centre as a page. Three coach profiles, GASP Lab and GCQuad filmed, packages priced, book a lesson.
JournalThe section exists at Essential. Complete adds the article writer and six launch articles. Below.
Search and AI visibilityStructured data on every page, a description per page, answer-led pages for all ten streams, a baseline measurement before launch. Essential gets the technical floor: redirects, titles, sitemap, photographs unblocked.

Plus routing, so each form reaches the right person with the fields they need. We write the copy at every level; Complete is ten more pages of it, for the parts of the club that have never had any.

Every level has the journal. Complete fills it.

The journal, and the tool that fills it.

Essential includes the journal, and you write it. A journal only works if somebody keeps writing it, so from Complete we write six launch articles and hand you an article generator loaded with your knowledge base: a one-line brief returns a draft in your tone, written for Google and for AI assistants, which you edit and publish. Care and content adds two a month.

The six we would write first

  • Golf society days in Cambridgeshire: what to expect and what to budget
  • Where to play padel near St Ives and Huntingdon
  • Countryside wedding venues in Cambridgeshire licensed for ceremonies
  • Christmas party venues near St Ives: what to ask before you book
  • What actually happens at a Titleist National Fitting Centre
  • Flexible golf membership explained, and who it suits

Optional, later

Capture, when the website is done.

You asked whether you could tell the system to email every 2025 society offering this year's prices to rebook. Close, but not one sentence yet. Today it is two steps: Capture holds every society enquiry as a segment, and our email tool writes and designs the email from your knowledge base in minutes. One club has 355 societies in that list from their website alone. Nothing here is needed for the site to work.
