One man planted 100,000 trees.

The members own them now.

Act oneThe brief

What we heard

Four things we think are true.

If any of these is wrong, tell us, because everything after follows from them.

01

A site like Hankley Common’s

Photographs first, few words, and the course doing the talking.

02

A brand the committee can sign off

One logo, one green and one set of photographs, written down.

03

A fixed price and a date

Every line here is priced, and the build runs to a ten-week plan.

04

A site the club can run

Your team changes prices, menus and news themselves.

The course is already good enough. Top 100 Golf Courses ranks it 4th in Bedfordshire. The job is to show it.

The club in numbers

Six numbers, and the last one is the argument.

  • 1975The founder finds 100 acres of barley and brussel sprouts on the Greensand Ridge
  • 28Bunkers, dug by one man and his bulldozer
  • 100,000Trees, and more, planted by the founder
  • 2002The year the club became owned by its members
  • 6,910Yards from the blue tees, par 72
  • 4thIn Bedfordshire, on Top 100 Golf Courses

A top-four course in the county, with a founder’s story most clubs would put on the front door. The website should look like that club.

What you already have

Most of what the new site needs is already yours.

One · The brand

Your brand, written down.

Five versions of the logo are in circulation today. We found the master drawn inside your 2024 brochure and rebuilt it as one file. The guidelines set out the green, the club’s own typefaces, Titillium Web and Lato, the photography and the voice. They are yours, free, whatever you decide, and this page is set in them.

Two · A site like Hankley Common’s

Why Hankley works, and what The Millbrook would do with it.

Hankley’s homepage is a photograph, a line, two buttons and three sections. Each section is one picture, one thing someone else said about the club, and one next step.

Hankley doesThe Millbrook would
One hole, full screenThe 11th from the tee, the hole most members call their favourite
One line“A land of heather, Scots pine and the finest heathland in England” becomes Heathland golf on the Greensand Ridge, owned by the members who play it.

Built from your own 2015 photographs, with the logo cut out of each frame. It leads with membership, with visitors and societies close behind.

Three · What we build

A page for every reason to visit.

Each with its photographs, its words and a next step. BRS and How Did I Do stay where they are.

Four · The autumn shoot

A photographer on the course this autumn.

Your newest course photographs date from 2015, and every one has the logo printed in the corner. Before the build starts we spend a day at The Millbrook: first and last light on the signature holes, the clubhouse, the team, and golfers playing.

A full day is £1,000 + VAT. A half day is £500 + VAT.

The photographs are the club’s to keep and use anywhere.

Search and AI

When someone asks, be the answer.

A society organiser asks ChatGPT for a golf day near junction 13 of the M1. A family at Center Parcs asks Google where to play nearby. Each gets one answer. Being in it takes a page for every question, prices in plain view, and structured data. Every level includes the basics: redirects, page titles, a sitemap and named photographs.

Year one at Complete: £7,500 plus care, both plus VAT. Invoiced in three stages, on go-ahead, design sign-off and go live. Care starts the month the site is live. 10% off care paid annually

Later, if you want it: Capture puts every society and membership enquiry in one list and answers it in the club’s brand (£795 setup, then from £151 a month on an annual plan), and the AI Concierge answers questions on the site day and night (£69 a month on an annual plan). Nothing in this proposal depends on either.

Three steps, and one of them is ours.
